Oortcloudiousness Attained!
Posted by: Joe "Bull" Bullard @ 2006.09.14.1838
After over a year in construction and after hours and hours of checking and rechecking, I flipped the power switch on the most complex machine I have yet built. Fortunately nothing exploded, and I was greeted with the steady hum of my CNC milling machine ready for operation. I have always wanted to build a machine that would be capable of making anything I could think of. This is far from that, but it is a step in the right direction. Now I am able to draw things on the computer and have the machine cut them out entirely on its own. Actually, my hope was to make a machine capable of making the parts to produce another, better milling machine. I think this machine may fall short of that, but with more testing we will see.
It took a great deal of time and planning but more trial and error. I personally made most of the parts that it is comprised of. Additionally, I encountered many problems in an effort to make it as cheaply as possible. This is the second version of the entire electrical system, and the first motors/drives were too weak to move it around suitably, so I had to replace them as well, which was quite involved. Other parts I made 3 and 4 times before getting them right. I completed it just in time to mill my grandfather a happy birthday card on a block of wood. I am happy with how it turned out, but the next one will be much better.

Thanks Bull, for feeling the pain of everyone.

Don't you just feel like the Bull is holding back, so as to not embarass small countries, for he has greater capabilities in his mother's basement than developing countries have in secret government labs....

The Bull lives in a predominately Jewish neighborhood. We don't want them coming after him because he's " too smart for his own good"

This web site sucks! Usually when bike sales season slows down for the year Ned makes 10 posts a day.

Yeah, they aren't slowing because Greg and I are rockin it out. So you been thinking about a new bike?

"rockin it out"?
what exactly does that mean?
are you "painting Greg's back porch red?"
|
Ned @ 2006.10.08 1806

No, Greg's porch must first be stabilized as it's top heavy. also check out the hip hop truckline.

Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, Lamborghini, McClaren: They don't make minivans, they don't make pick-up trucks. They make racecars. Cars built for performance and born on the race track. These are no-compromise vehicles. It's what you buy when you want to go fast. There are no child seats, no roof racks.
Cervelo: They don't make mountain bikes, BMX bikes or tandems. They make road and triathlon bikes. They are built for uncompromising performance. Among the best in the world, in some cases the very best. This just sounds like something the Bull would write.

I thought if you jack your seat up high enough any bike is a triathlon bike.
And if you put a super load exhaust on a Dodge neon/any honda/toyota Corolla it is a race car. Yo!
