Charlie's Bachelor Party
Posted by: Adam Fuson @ 2006.06.24.2140

Friday evening was to be Charlie's bachelor party. Charlie, Melissa and Reser entered decavirate and took me to a local Chinese carry-out, so that they might get a light dinner. Nieport arrived, while Reser and Melissa ate at decavirate, and after waiting about an hour, we concluded that John Adams was probably on his way to Chicago. Headed for Madison, Indiana with a planned stop at the Hebron, Kentucky Dairy Queen we received a call from John Adams, who had just revived himself from a beauty nap. Johnny met us at Dairy Queen, where Nieport and Reser joined him and I began driving Charlie's Subaru. Our two cars snaked their way along curvy Kentucky back roads until we made our way to the narrow bridge which crosses to Madison, Indiana. As usual we ascended to the local waterfall, where we assembled for a group shot and decided our return route.

Johnny again led the way as we returned to Kentucky and drove east towards the Markland Dam. Along the way we stopped at a Shell station for cheap gas, where Reser also bought some small fireworks. In the miles between that Shell station and the dam Reser dropped lit smoke-bombs and firecrackers from the Cougar, which were highly visible and amusing in the middle of the night. Reaching the dam we crossed and parked in the 3-story Belterra garage. Expectedly, the Captain was on duty and was able to give us a complete complimentary tour of the casino boat. The 5 of us toured the engine and generator rooms and walked about the top floor, where we met the actual captain in the pilot house. By this time it was nearly 3:00 am, so we sped east along the Indiana banks of the river. I took a short-cut, but mistook how much time it saved, and John managed to beat us to the interstate.

Congratulations, Charlie!

Thanks everyone for the fun evening. It's everything I expected from a Decavirate-style bachelor party. All big events seem to be marked with a drive to Madison. Plus, the tour of the engine room was quite cool. Looking on the map, I really don't think the short cut is much of a short cut after all.

I burnt myself that night, my clam-diggers have holes now.

I'm glad your expectations for decaVirate bachelor party were met and not exceeded.

Speaking of bachelor parties, I saw Bremer at his last night.

Sometimes they are marked with malting or in special circumstances a bag of Combos...
