Top Ten 2005
Posted by: Adam Fuson @ 2005.12.31.2014

Change and growth marked this year. Our matriarch, Granny, passed last February, and my mother began a series of trips, which have made me prouder of her than ever before. Charlie owns a PC laptop and I own a powerbook, which I am enjoying in my slow entrance into the world of *nix systems. Despite this being one of my slowest years on the bike, I feel I have grown through Calvin's Challenge with Nieport and Bob Schoettinger. Working for trucking company and Callahan simultaneously took its toll on me after six months. Fortunately, there was a welcome break and adventure to Yosemite and San Francisco. Katherine provided the best tour ever through four days in San Francisco and had been good enough to attend the racing in Iowa with Hayashi and all the UC racers. Before leaving for the west coast, however, Jim and Beini announced their commitment to each other September 10 in the presence of Danni (Beini's sister and the maid of honor) and myself (the best man). Returning from California I immediately began my first quarter at UC as a graduate student.

Despite the unpredictable nature of the past year, it has clearly been a success and we are currently beginning the new year with new riders at Reser Bicycle anxious to train and do well in the coming year. May the training you are undertaking yield results in your new year!

charlie @ 2006.01.04 1422
  Where is Reser?

the silent one @ 2006.01.04 1556
Apparently, a cat dialed 9-1-1 to save owners life in Columbus. Simply amazing.

charlie @ 2006.01.05 0140
A young Johnny Adams (or Fuson, or Reser...) drifts his tricycle around a corner:

Fuse @ 2006.01.05 1517
Actually as a small kid I had a bike with a headlight and turn signals. Along my driveway there was a puddle shaped perfectly such that one of my training wheels could be on the driveway the other in the grass and my drive wheel would spin freely. When it would rain, the puddle would fill and I could pedal as fast as I wanted spraying water all over the place including myself.

It seems 2005 has been a boring year, we shall rememdy it with many more ortcloudious things. Get to work decavirate!

katherine @ 2006.01.08 2159
the bull, just because you didn't make the top ten doesn't mean it was a boring year for decavirate, it means it was a boring year for you.

Fuse @ 2006.01.09 0930
Well perhaps just not enough articles were written to document the excitement at Bullard Mansion.

Ned @ 2006.01.09 1058
I have returned and looked to decavirate for updates, finind as I expected, nothing.

"it's not the best, but it's not the grossest." -overheard opinion on the pizza pan

decavirate @ 2006.01.14 2214
happy birthday the bull. i know we are three days late but this is the time of decavirate. love, decavirate.

winnie @ 2006.01.15 1001
Actually, you were only a day late...meaning you're light years ahead in the time of decavirate.

katherine @ 2006.01.17 1244
adam, i left my phone at your house. email me when you're out of class so i can come get it.

Ned @ 2006.01.18 1027
  Roadway Express has pro numbers.

What you got?

Fuse @ 2006.01.18 1043
  The choices . . .

winnie @ 2006.01.20 1220
happy birthday adam...now you're an official member of the "quarter century" club.

katherine @ 2006.01.20 1230
i'm planning a dinner @ dewey's [newport on the levee] on saturday night at 7pm for adam's birthday. if i haven't already talked to you, you are definately invited but email me [katherinekrobinson@mac.com] and let me know so i can make reservations.

Fuse @ 2006.01.20 1330
  I don't believe Dewey's does reservations....

winnie @ 2006.01.20 1517
yeah, I'm pretty sure they don't do reservations...at least the one in oakley doesn't. I wish I could come, but i have to babysit at 6pm tomorrow. If you do anything tonight, let me know. Have fun, though!

Fuse @ 2006.01.20 1521
Winnie, I'll be home in a few hours, we should get together and web page... my house or your's?

will @ 2006.01.20 1521
yeah, a reservation type restaurant isn't really fuson's style. so if they can't seat us, there's always dixie chili or chipotle to choose from.

Fuse @ 2006.01.20 1533
Maybe for the sake of old times, we could bust out a crock pot and take a few hours to cook some minute rice...

katherine @ 2006.01.20 1539
no. we're going to dewey's. i just called the newport location, they aren't willing to accept reservations on the weekends so i plan on getting there at 615 or so to put in our name. they can't seat us until half the people are there so if you are coming please plan on being on time so we are able to be seated around 7pm.

winnie @ 2006.01.20 1649
Adam--it doesn't matter to me...we could grab something to eat if you want and meet up at one of our places. I'll call you when i get out of work.

will @ 2006.01.20 1832
i'll bring the rice and pot if you bring the cargo van

Ned @ 2006.01.20 1906
  I'm going to decavirate to-nite.

Fuse @ 2006.01.20 1923
I'll be at decavirate in a bit, Reser....I just went shoe shopping with Mom.

the silent one @ 2006.01.23 2311
  I HATE MATLAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuse @ 2006.01.24 0835

MatLab @ 2006.01.24 1254
  I HATE NIEPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ned0verend @ 2006.01.26 1222
  Decemvirate.

I believe you owe us all an apology for making a word for which there was already.

Fuse @ 2006.01.26 1328
Decavirate is the modern, streamlined version of a Decemvirate. We give vowels an equal opportunity and have taken some liberties in shortening the word and making it more palatable to the western tongue.

katherine @ 2006.01.26 1440
Adams, Bullard, Fuson, Hartman, Reser, Slattery, Yokel. wouldn't that be Septemvirate?

Ned @ 2006.01.26 1813
Oh, so we are making shorter more modern palatable words out of current English words like Decemvirate. With that like of thought "ain't" should be admitted.

john adams @ 2006.01.26 2245
